Make It You: Edgy - "You'll always be my favorite "what if"
Show Karen of Where Did U Get That how you push the envelope with today’s biggest trends for a chance to win $500 and Converse shoes!

So this is my try to the contest, and at first I thought there'd be no point in taking part since honestly that first idea was so ordinary and obvious, but then for some reason I thought about my old friend Emma and what we used to look like in middle school; I remember her crazy pink tutu and cute iPod from where we listened music in the hallways, and how natural pink hair looked on her. So take skater punk, some Jeffree Star, emo, Cristal Snow and loads of Kate Moennig, twist, shake and squeeze, and that's us. Yeah, we were the coolest weirdos around. As well as a contest entry, this is also a hommage to Emma and our what if's.

Lene's style history
Since the clothes have changed a good bit from when I was 10, I just went with the closest options from what I used to wear that I could find.

10 years: Honestly, I don't remember much about what I used to wear that time, but I remember having a couple of white t-shirts with some pattern anyway, and a pair of pretty much that kind of trousers. On what I've heard I wore a lot of college shirts and cardigans, and jeans, too. My favourite jewelry included that kind of turquoise bracelets, and that backpack is quite similar to one I used to have. I didn't listen to any specific style of music, there was Gary Moore, Queen, Westlife and other boybands and Robbie Williams, but that LOTR soundtrack was one of my favs. Soon after that I found The Rasmus and other rock bands.

14 years: I was quite in the middle of a style change, so I went for the one I was transforming away from. At the time I was 12-13, I was pretty goth, a whole lot of lace and black and so. And yes, I wore leather pants and bright red lipstick as a 7th grader. I used to wear a sword pendant and I had it for many years, but sadly I lost it. Sonata Arctica was pretty obvious music choice since I have pretty much grown up with it, other choices would've been Sentenced, Mokoma, Charon, Nightwish or Children of Bodom, from which the three first I still listen today.

18 years: Well, I haven't changed a lot from that. I still wear camouflage cargos and tank tops, as well as Tor's hammer and eyeliner. Amorphis as music choice is quite spot on, options number 2 would be Profane Omen, myGRAIN, Finntroll and Turisas.

Now: Despite all regrettable clothing choices in the past and occasional chameleon effects, I'm pretty much a casual jeans and t-shirt kind of rock gal. I don't actually wear as much studs as I did as ~13-15 years old, but that bracelet I chose would go neatly with my current style. I thought about adding a skirt or dress to this last one, since these days I actually enjoy wearing them more than I used to (except the goth phase). And finally, some Mokoma, my ultimate fav band for years and that's also something I bet won't change that fast.

A quick outfit to test my new template. It's annoying how small those end up even though they seem reasonably big while doing them...
